Create Work that Works. Live Your Life on Purpose.

My whole life purpose is helping people create work that works for them. I deeply believe you can create what you want, and you don’t have to wait for permission from someone else to manifest your dreams.

Most of my clients are in transition. I receive many of my calls when someone is in a work related crisis. This can be anything from losing a job to being burned out. And once we start talking, I consistently hear my clients ask some very legitimate questions. They wonder how they ended up in their current job or they’re bewildered at what to do next.

These are the kinds of questions I help guide my clients through. I have learned that one of the worst questions you could ask yourself is “who is hiring” or “what jobs are available?” Instead, I start by asking my clients what they want their work to be, and from there we can create it.

I love working with people in all phases of career growth. The scope of clients I work with is quite broad. Some are younger and they’re trying to figure out where they want to go, others are looking for development and promotions within the organization they’re currently in. Other clients are in an older age bracket and are looking to re-career, transition, or come up with an encore career.

I like to compare my process to Jacob Marley from the Christmas Carol. I take people to their past, and from the information they give me, I show them what worked and what didn’t work, and we identify when things started to go off the rails a bit. Then we bring it all into the present time, evaluate what is working and what is not working now, decide what they want more or less of, and then project into the future where their current trajectory is taking them.

This is a great way to see where a client is headed. After this process my clients can see their path clearly and can confidently decide if they feel they’re headed in the right direction or not. Imagining what your future looks like based on your past and present is quite empowering. Helping people do this kind of evaluation is something I’ve been doing since the sixth grade. I’ve been facilitating and supporting the development of great bosses and great employees.

I see magic happen with my clients once they get clear about what they want. It’s why I love doing what I do.

Mary used a variety of tools that helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses to focus my job search. What I found to be of utmost value was that Mary was HONEST. She helped me frame myself in a logical manner and put things into perspective for me.

She worked on every aspect of my job search with me. Everything from what to do for the moment, to finishing a resume, to doing well at an interview was discussed. She pushed me and gave me confidence, so that I could find a position that worked best for me.
